JOURNEYS: A dream come true

I was in Walgreens when a little old man wearing a hat that said "John 3:16" flashed one of the biggest smiles you have ever seen and gave me a handout that said "Where will you spend eternity?" Then he asked whether I would like to hear a song. Next thing I knew, magic happened.

You know that feeling you get when you know you are exactly where your are supposed to be? We've all been there at one time or other, but I think I had all but talked myself out of the short little trip.

A crowded drug store. A man whose voice was an amazing cross between Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra. Misty-eyed, I couldn't stop smiling. It was beautiful.

I told him it was lovely, and he said God gives each of us a unique talent. Then he told me the best thing a lady can wear is a smile!

God, I love days like that.

They're the kind that remind you to use your talents -- and smile!
