A Hackensack man tried walking home and summoned an ambulance along the way after he lost an arm when he was hit by an NJ Transit commuter train in a possible suicide attempt late Tuesday, police told Daily Voice.
Responders “originally thought they’d find the body elsewhere after finding the arm” near the Anderson Street station around 10:15 p.m., Hackensack Police Capt. Timothy Lloyd said.
“He apparently tried to walk home” and made it four blocks to Second Street, said Lloyd, the department’s officer in charge. “They were searching the tracks when he called in.”
The man, who responders said has a history of mental issues, was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, along with the arm. READ MORE….
