Amanda is a 2-year-old Shih Tzu mix who was dropped at the Liberty Humane Society by an owner who could no longer afford to keep her. "She's a sweet little girl," said her foster parent, Kiria. "She likes to play, but when she sees that you just want to relax she will sit by you and cuddle."

"Amanda is great with kids," she said, "and she would have no problems living with a family with small children. She would make a great apartment dog!"
Kiria, who lives in the Newport area, said she "would be happy to show Amanda to a nice family at any time."
